The by-product of cold pressing the flaxseed to extract the oil is flaxseed flakes. At the same time the oil is pressed, the surplus is extracted through a tube where heat is added to form flakes.
These flakes are 28% protein and they’re brilliant for pig and cattle feed.
Another major plus for the addition of flaxseed flakes to animal feeds is the high fibre value that it contains. While most other whole grains contain large amounts of one type of fibre, flaxseed contains both soluble and non-soluble fibre.
Recent studies have shown that both types of fibre found in flaxseed are very important in different areas, with the soluble fibre aiding in the circulatory system and the insoluble aiding in the digestive process.
The flakes are sold by PureFlax in one tonne tote (sacks) bags.
The price of the flakes can vary so much depending on where it’s being delivered to and the quantity of flakes in each bag, therefore please contact us directly to obtain a quote.
